It started with a brief email: “I doubt there are many in the county who understand the role of the County Auditor. I didn’t appreciate it myself until I found some things deep in the county budget and the independent auditor’s report,” that Kent Hanawalt sent to me, which led me to ask him to join me for coffee a couple of weeks ago.

If Kent Hanawalt were getting into politics, I would have to sit and chat a bit.
